Maintenance Supervisor (LAX)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Maintenance Supervisor (LAX) Department : Maintenance Reports To : LAX Maintenance Manager Location : Los Angeles, CA Shift : Full Time – 3 rd Shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

1. 1.Responsible for all station personnel including FMEs with regard to administrative requirements, training schedules, work performance, and compliance with Company policies and procedures contained in the GMM.
2. 2.Perform a weekly check to confirm that all required training is current for assigned personnel. Ensure that assigned personnel complete any due/overdue training.
3. 3.Develop and maintain sound personnel and labor relations, employee safety awareness, and open communication within the department.
4. 4.Ensure that the department’s functions are planned and carried out effectively and economically.
5. 5.Coordinate with required management personnel to ensure effective completion of maintenance, preventative maintenance, alteration, and repair of Company aircraft and ground support equipment.
6. 6.Schedule manpower of proper skill level for maintenance functions through coordination with Managers of Hangar, Engine Shop, or Station.
7. 7.Responsible for the discipline and efficient utilization of production personnel under his supervision.
8. 8.Ensure that tools, spare parts, and assigned equipment are cared for per Company policy and are readily available when needed.
9. 9.Coordinate and communicate with Managers and Maintenance Control.
10. 10.The Maintenance Supervisor is fully authorized to carry out all assigned responsibilities. This includes disciplinary action for employees and recommending termination of those under his supervision.
11. 11.Revise manuals within his department, ensure that the revision status is current, and return signed revision transmittals.
12. 12.Ensure personnel are using current working copies of manuals respective to the job at hand.
13. 13.Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Station Manager, Maintenance Manager, Engine Shop Manager, or Director of Maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Have at least 1 year of experience maintaining the same category and class of airplanes operated by Kalitta Air

• Must be appropriately certificated under 14 CFR Part 65

• FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate

• Individual must be organized and able to work with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
